Hello to all; This is my first blog on my very own new web-site. This is significient because I developed and launched this word press web-site that you have landed on. In my inner- most -heart I wanted to create my own site but believed it way over my head. On my origional sight I hired a professional developer and needed to go through them to update everything and I found myself not keeping the site updated. Then one of my students turned me on to Roos Schuring. Roos or Rose, a Dutch painter and savvy marketer, offered an on line course for artsts on ‘how to’ develop their own site. I signed up for the course because Rose seemed to know that most of us artists are technical flunkies. She stressed the point to “not have someone else do the work’ for us. To become independent, “don’t go through a third party”. I lanunched in and did most of the work but did need computer technical help from my friend Tom. For example I would somehow crash my sight and Tom would get me back up and running . My son Micah was also very helpful by shining the light at the end of the tunnel when I got lost in the woods. Thanks guys. My students also played a part. On launch day last week I asked for feedback. Wow, they had a lot to point out and I found I needed to make changes and simplify. Thank you all for the help and encouragment. And again, welcome and check out my site. I am so proud of it.
The above paintins is named Sunrise Along The Poudre 10×20. The Poudre River is a great place to paint any time of the year and this is what it looks like now in January. I like winter painting because they have great value changes from light to dark. I was inspired to paint this image because of the warm morning light. Click on the image to find out more.
